Michaela obtained her master’s degree in 2017 in Pharmacy at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove, Charles University. In her thesis, she studied the effect of plant secondary metabolites on the efficacy of standard chemotherapeutic agents in colorectal cancer cells. Michaela successfully finished her doctoral studies at the Department of Biochemical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Kralove, Charles University in 2024 and was awarded a PhD degree in Xenobiochemistry and Pathobiochemistry. In her dissertation, she investigated the biotransformation of plant secondary metabolites using LC-MS and evaluated their modulatory activity on drug-metabolizing enzymes. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in a proteomics lab in Biomedical Research Center.
