The main concern of this working group is the synthesis and testing of surfactants with a strong disinfectant efficacy against microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, viruses) with a focus on resistant strains. Dominant position in this group has the organic synthesis of mono-quaternary nitrogen aromatic heterocycles, which are subsequently assessed in-vitro in terms of the most effective and most broad-spectrum activity against various pathogens.
Main task of his group is to prepare novel ammonium-like detergents which form in water environment micelles. These micelar systems are used for decontamination of chemical warfare agents and pesticides. This work is conducted in tight cooperation with Faculty of Military Health Sciences (University of Defence).
