Laboratory of microbiology

The Laboratory of Microbiology is focused on the evaluation of the antimicrobial effect of newly prepared or used substances. For compounds, minimal inhibitory or cidal concentrations are determined using standard methods with a focus on resistant microorganisms. Antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi is detected. In addition, it is also possible to measure the efficacy of substances on microorganisms in a resistant biofilm form (minimal biofilm-eradication concentration). It is possible to work in BSL-2 mode.

The workplace performs:

• Measurement of minimal inhibitory concentration in clinically acquired microorganisms (bacteria, fungi)
• Measurement of minimal cidal concentration in clinically acquired microorganisms (bacteria, fungi)
• Measurement of minimal biofilm-eradication concentrations on different surfaces
• Custom substance testing
