The aim of the laboratory is mainly the in-vitro evaluation of biochemical and pharmacological parameters of newly synthesized compounds. Based on this biological evaluation the most suitable candidates are selected and recommended for the in - vivo phase.
The focus is on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of interactions of studied substances with biological systems like enzymes and receptors that are either recombinant or express in the cell systems. Last but not least, the laboratory focuses on the study of toxic effects of substances on cell lines itself and the prediction of permeation of substances across the blood-brain barrier.
