The department of Outpatient Wards in Internal Medicine ensures the functioning of 30 outpatient wards for 4 internal departments. Every year it serves up to 85,000 outpatients. Blood is daily taken from 250–300 patients and roughly the same number of patients undergo registration in the department, which involves processing and archiving EKGs of patients.
The department also runs a Day Center for other medical branches. The patients are observed before and after outpatient coronarographies, cardioversions, lung and liver biopsies, implants of central vein ports and other interventions. Cytostatic and analgesic treatment is also available, as are consultation services for palliative care. There is also an outpatient office for pain and other outpatient consultation offices of University Hospital Hradec Králové.
In 2012, in cooperation with the Angiocenter and the Department of Dermatology of University Hospital Hradec Králové, the outpatient wards established a laser center offering commercial services in esthetic and curative dermatology and angiology.
