This unique department in the Hradec Králové Region is the only one of its type providing complex dermatovenerogical care for adults and children on both an outpatient and inpatient basis.
It has the best equipped phototherapeutic unit in the CR for treating psoriasis, and moreover can provide a whole range of systemic and biological treatments.
A committee for dark neoplasms examines and monitors patients suffering from melanoma. The department is equipped with a digital dermatoscope to diagnose skin tumors. The department of dermatology regularly participates in preventive and educational programs to raise awareness of malignant melanomas.
The department is also active in the field of healing wounds with the aid of modern covering materials and routinely performs lymph drainages. It is also one of the few workplaces nationally which uses photodynamic treatment. Special consultation offices exist for photodermatoses, autoimmune blistering disorders, for professional dermatoses with superficial skin testing, as well as a consultation office for patients with problems of immunosuppression and patients with negative dermatological side effects from medications.
Diagnostics and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases is carried out in the outpatient venereological ward. A unique algorithm detecting food and inhalation allergies is being used in the diagnostics and treatment of atopic eczema.
The department of dermatology is equipped with an operating room where many curative and corrective skin surgeries are done. The department is also an accredited dermatological workplace where wrinkle filling, Botox application or similar interventions are performed. Recently, the possibility to use lasers for corrective skin interventions has been introduced. The department is among one of the three centers in the CR with inpatient care in pediatric dermatology.
