In 2011 the Center for Biomedical Research was established at the University Hospital Hradec Králové – the center is engaged exclusively in research, both preliminary and applied. As part of its work, the center actively cooperates on scientific issues with hospital departments, scientific institutions in the region, in the Czech Republic, and internationally. In the form of contractual research, the center offers its services to commercial establishments. An integral part of the center’s activities include the instruction of undergraduate and graduate students. At present, the center is an important scientific location in the Hradec Králové Region and annually generates more than 40 IF publications, undertakes more than 10 large national projects such as GAČR (Czech Science Foundation) or AZV (Czech Health Research Council), and cooperates with private entities and research partners from more than 20 countries.
